sensory details

on saturday, i was walking along weyburn, going up to UCLA for the festival of books, and there was this smell in the air that reminded me of being in spain 2 years ago. for this one quick moment, i wasn't walking in the middle of westwood - i was stepping off the bus from the airport into the center of granada, trying to find my hostel. maybe it's because i'm getting antsy from all these classes and the upcoming stresses of finding jobs and getting stuff done for the program, but i very much want to leave the country for a little bit, to explore the world out there some more.

even today, i was leaving campus and walking to my car and near the quad, there was this tea smell and i saw portland summers and barley tea. i think i'm looking for a break from all of the things that are going to be due in the next few weeks. i think i may be in avoidance mode.

random note: i'm so not made to handle high-maintenance people. this may or may not be explained later.
