i'm exhausted. making efforts to be hip and young is so tiring. i truly am an old lady.
friday night, siobhan and i were determined to go out for happy hour, even though we were both tired after watching eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. we went to mccormick's fish house on 4th and james street. we left a little after midnight, a fact of which we were quite proud, though by most standards, this was an early night.
i had saturday off from work, thank you issaquah salmon days. i slept in and shiv and i made lunch - a yakisoba experiment - and i then i made her watch walking tall. and she liked it. ha. later i went to barnes and noble and browsed for books. being around and near books is quite relaxing. i met up with heidi and sherwin for dinner near chinatown, at this japanese restaurant that was so good. we loved it! then i went and had coffee with pam in west seattle where we chatted and planned. it was a full day of activity.
sunday, i slept in again - thank you SFCC for having noon services. it was our annual church/members meeting with voting and stuff like that. i used to like these meetings, and then one year, there was some heated arguing and i decided that i do not like church politics and these types of meetings. the last two years have been without fanfare, so it's not too bad. i had to duck out before they were officially finished to make it to my volleyball game. another season has started and it's fun. i am, however, really, really sore. later, i went to dinner with grace, joe, siobhan, chong, amy, june, and mike at azteca. it was nice having grace in town to catch up and hang out, and of course, joe too :)
last night, some of us went out to graceland to support the audio biography, rockstar abe's band. they played with autumn sonata, cody who, and headliners the four colour process [i'm pretty sure the guitar player was in a few of my spanish classes at UW]. it was a fun show and as a result, i think that i might have sustained some serious hearing damage. i'm still hearing ringing in my ears. i'm also sure last night was the first time graceland had seen that many asians.
and today, i bought aladdin on DVD and received a free abu plush toy, not to be confused with apu, the squishie man from the simpsons.
lastly, steamed buns. say it out loud. it's funny.
