last night, i had the opportunity to go to a poetry/spoken word even in j-town. it was through projekt newspeak and it was a competition between various spoken word artists. i'd never been to hear anything like it before and i have to say that i wasn't sure what to expect. i'm so glad i went! it was great listening to different people express their thoughts and ideas through poetry. i totally felt inspired. am i going to write poetry now? probably not. instead, maybe i'll get more consistent with my own journaling.
today, i went and saw lucky number slevin. initially, i started to wonder if i was going to like it, but once the movie got going, i found it really enjoyable.
and finally, my IKEA bookshelf was put together by some awesome and helpful people. in exchange, i washed some dishes. all worth it. i think it would've taken me too long to put the thing together by myself since it didn't even come with a diagram or instructions. now i can organize and store stuff! SO EXCITING! this is me...offically dorking out over a bookshelf. love it.
