the tonight show!

i spent half the day in burbank at nbc studios, watching the taping of the tonight show with jay leno. dan and sam went at 6am this morning to wait in line for tickets that get passed out at 8am. they were the only ones there until 7:15, when the next person showed up. i didn't have to show up until almost 2pm. thanks guys! since they waited literally all day, i brought them panda express for lunch (at their request), which has never looked so delicious to me. seriously.

anyway, they let us into the studio around 3:30pm. while we waited, we watched a series of clips of past musical performances, one of which was russell crowe and his band. they weren't great and he kept making jazz hands/spirit fingers. jay leno came out a little earlier and joked with us a bit and sam had the inside track that a certain key phrase meant that we could ask to take pictures with him. i heard jay say it, but froze - like a deer in the headlights. sam, on the other hand, raised his hand and got to take a picture with leno! very cool. jay also asked sam what he does and joked with him a little
about what he plans on doing after finishing at talbot. sam said pastor, and jay said, "or fast food." ahahaha...

the guests were jennifer garner (who was seriously adorable), ty pennington (seriously ADHD...), and musical guest bow wow (who was surprisingly good). i'm going to TIVO the show tonight to see if i can catch any of us on TV. we were sitting just behind the first two rows in the center of the studio, so there's a good chance. so exciting!
