i love cartoons. i have loved cartoons since i was old enough to sit up by myself in front of a tv, maybe even before then. as a wee lass of the 80s and 90s, i grew up with jem and the holograms [to which i would sing along as loudly as i could – i had her music tapes and halloween costume], he-man: master of the universe, she-ra [he-man’s girl cousin], care bears, smurfs, snorks, shirt tails, thundercats, teenage mutant ninja turtles, transformers, gi joe, go bots [the poorman’s transformers], duck tales, chip and dale rescue rangers and all those other disney cartoons, batman the animated series, and the x-men cartoons on fox. sadly, most of these classics are no longer on tv, with the exception of the few that continue to air on cartoon network.

though the cartoons on tv now just aren’t as super fantástico, i have come to enjoy jackie chan adventures, yu-gi-oh [i have no idea why…i just like it], static shock, x-men evolution [only so i can get some kind of x-men fix], and my most favorite, batman beyond [which is no longer airing].

i have recently discovered, with the help of extensive and obsessive internet research, that there are planned dvd releases of jem and the holograms and gi joe. i know they’ve already released transformers, but i can just borrow that from my transformer loving friends.

oh if they would only release all my favorite cartoons on dvd, like batman beyond. have i mentioned how much i love batman beyond? and just batman in general? i can't wait for the christopher nolan batman movie!!!
