yesterday morning at work, i opened up aol to see the headlines detailing a tragedy in madrid. the world is a crazy place. my mom told me that my uncle from jersey called, worried that i was in spain. 10 of the 13 bombs planted exploded on packed commuter trains in the earlier portion of the morning. news reports says it could be the work of basque separatist groups or the opposers of spain's decision to support bush's war in iraq. i suppose either way, it's a message sent. it is still difficult to think, even in this world laden with horrible acts of violence against one another, that there are people who willingly and knowingly inflict pain and suffering on others.
